Staff Accountant

Formstack, the most flexible and powerful form building application, is looking for an Staff Accountant to add to the Formstack team.

The Role:

A successful Staff Accountant is able to consistently apply policies and procedures and is able to multitask a variety of high priority tasks while adhering to tight deadlines. A successful candidate must easily adapt to change, work well in a fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.

The primary focus of this position will be to ensure that the financial records are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and that all accounting close responsibilities and associated controls are completed in a timely manner. The Staff Accountant will work under the direction of the VP of Finance.

Who You Are:

  • You consider yourself an Excel wizard, guru, or the more professional nomenclature, an Excel expert


  • Preparation of monthly journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure all reconciliations are completed and signed appropriately
  • Assist with gathering and creating various external audit and tax requests
  • Assist in the preparation of Control Matrices, flowcharts, and narratives
  • Month-end general ledger close and assist with the preparation of financial statements and other internal reporting
  • Ad hoc analysis and project support as requested by management
  • Respond to customer billing inquiries and payment requests
  • Assist with processing payroll in a timely manner


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance related role
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Ability to review statutory/regulatory or other policy language and apply requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments
  • Proficient use of applicable technology; specifically Microsoft Office Applications (Excel and Word)
